On April 25

Catching up with photographs from less than 2 weeks ago.

The Osmunda swamp, as we call it. In an old oxbow along the brook, now filled with cinnamon, interrupted, and royal ferns. On higher ground around the oxbow are Christmas and maiden hair ferns, and I bet, a couple others I am forgetting. The skunk cabbage in the background is becoming tattered already.

Old woods meets new. Can you find the former field's edge?

Don't tell anyone this, but the leaves are making the forest tough to navigate. Landmarks are disappearing, even in our severely deer browsed area.
